HP, Microsoft Deliver Global Collaboration Solutions via Cloud

HP Enterprise Services and Microsoft Corporation have just announced that they will be working together over the next four years to provide Microsoft’s communication and collaboration applications through an extensive series of private, public and hybrid cloud services.

The private cloud solutions will include HP Enterprise Cloud Services-Messaging, HP Enterprise Cloud Services-Collaboration and HP Enterprise Cloud Services-Real-Time Collaboration as a way to deliver Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 and Microsoft Lync Server 2010.

Microsoft Office 365, a comprehensive set of collaboration and productivity tools, will be delivered by Microsoft Corporation as a public cloud solution. HP is also set to resell Microsoft Office 365 with HP Enterprise Cloud Services-Messaging, HP Enterprise Cloud Services-Collaboration and HP Enterprise Cloud Services-Real-Time Collaboration as a hybrid solution.

HP and Microsoft have a 25 year history of working together to provide technological solutions for businesses and organizations. Microsoft offers the standard platform for HP’s operating systems and development environments while HP creates, manages and modernizes the various applications.

Mark Hill, the vice president of the Enterprise Partner Group at Microsoft, released a short public statement about the decision. He said, “Microsoft is committed to putting the unique and ever-evolving needs of customers at the core of cloud innovation. This alliance with HP not only broadens Microsoft’s geographic reach, it gives customers maximum flexibility to choose a cloud computing solution that meets their organization’s specialized messaging and collaboration needs.”
