On January 23, 2012, Juniper Networks and BitGravity, Inc. announced that the two companies had signed an agreement that will grant Juniper full access to the service management layer of BitGravity's CDN technology. The financial terms of the agreement were not released to the public.

Juniper intends to use the technology to create a comprehensive solution that will allow customers to create public and private CDNs that can deliver internet content in a highly affordable manner while improving the user experience at the same time. It should also help with the increasing growth of online video traffic for the company. The integrated solution is expected to be released at some point in 2012.

This is not the first time that the two companies have worked together. BitGravity, Inc. has already integrated its service management technology with Juniper's Media Flow Solution, a platform designed to greatly improve the efficiency of content delivery for network service providers, enterprises, and CDNs.

Tom Fountain, the general manager of the Content and Media Business Unit at Juniper Networks, spoke briefly on the matter. He stated, "Our service provider customers demand innovative solutions to improve the efficiency of content delivery and enable new revenue sources. This agreement with Tata Communications strengthens our content and media solution portfolio with a highly optimized and battle-tested service management layer. The integrated offering will enable our customers to improve their scale, drive down costs and grow revenue."
