The Top 33 (Other) VoIP Blogs

Although we are only a week or two old, you know by now that we are already a must-read VoIP blog. But there are plenty of other extremely valuable and worthwhile VoIP blogs out there and here are 33 of the best in no particular order. NOTE - we specifically did not include any blog that has not been updated in the last six months - that's not a blog - that's history.

  1. SaundersLog - Alex Saunder's Personal Soapbox - Alex Saunders is one of the deans of VoIp and VoIP blogging - well worth reading.
  2. Voice Over IP Weblog - Jeff Goldman writes a frequently-updated nice straightforward blog about all things VoIP
  3. VoIP Survivor - IMS and VoIP industry insights - a Radvision blog - covers a good range of VoIP industry issues in some depth
  4. Skype's blogs - Skype runs its own set of blogs and even the CEO contributes. Find them here.
  5. Skype Journal - but for the REAL lowdown on Skype and anything and everythign to do with it and VoIP, read Phil Wolff's Skype Journal.
  6. VoIP Watch - Andy Abramson is perhaps the most connected man in VoIP - He's a PR person for many VoIP companies but doesn't restrict his coverage of the VoIP industry on his blog - nor does he pull any punches.
  7. Asterisk VoIP News - an Asterisk (most popular open source PBX) specific blog.
  8. GigaOM - the home site of the GigaOM network and home of prolific journalist/entrepreneur/blogger, Om Malik. Covers VoIP among several other internet technologies
  9. Fierce VoIP Blog - the blog part of the Fierce VoIP email newsletter
  10. Global Crossing Blog - one of the better vendor blogs that manages to stay away from being partisan.
  11. Jon Arnold's Analyst 2.0 - a better name might be VoIP Analyst 2.0 - Jon Arnold provides telling insights into the world of VoIP.
  12. OS-VoIP - a newer open source VoIP blog that is a bit less totally Asterisk biased than some.
  13. Signal to Noise - Ted Wallingford - perhaps once this was a Mac specific VoIP blog - but it certainly isn't anymore...
  14. If you can't tell what a blog called PhoneBoy is likely to be from the title - well - it's actually a very good VoIP and telephony blog with a special focus on mobile and phones.
  15. Even big blogging networks haven't totally ignored the niche world of VoIP - Here's weblogs, inc's VoIP blog.
  16. Mark Evans - Great blog from a Canadian communications consultant
  17. Tom Keating of TMCnet, one of the largest VoIP media sites, runs hid ideas down for you.
  18. VoIP News - basic reshashing of hardcore voip industry news
  19. VoIP-News UK - yes, there are lots of VoIP News blogs - this is one of the better ones - with a UK bias.
  20. VoIP User - Great blog from a real world perspective covering a wide range of VoIP topics.
  21. The only regularly updated VON blog - but that's important since VON is the most important VoIP trade show.
  22. Voxilla is a VoIP blog with a great 'Ask Voxilla' feature
  23. Rich Tehrani's blog at TMCNet - the other big hitter in TMC's one-two voip blogger punch.
  24. Luca Filigheddu is the CEO of Abbeynet an Italian IP communications company. But really he's the biggest VoIP blogger outside of North America and has a great personal style.
  25. Latest VoIP News - The URL might say latestgeeknews, but this blog is all VoIP and IMS all the time.
  26. VoIP Telephony is another covers-everything VoIP blog that has been runnning since 2005.
  27. VoIP Monitor - a three person team covering everything about the VoIP business in great depth.
  28. VoIP Insider - VoIP Supply's blog - fairly commercial but does cover the industry with its own take.
  29. VoIP Security Blog - the name says it all - a specialized VoIP blof that really hits the mark.
  30. Voice of VoIPSA - the VoIP security Association - the other VoIP Security blog - very much on the money.
  31. Disruptive Telephony - Dan York's great take on IP Telephony from all angles.
  32. Sadly, despite the great URL, this blog is called VoIP and Telecom Blog - LONG infrequent posts looking at big overall changes in the VoIP market.
  33. Michael Robertson covers VoIP and a lot of other IP connected/communicating devices as well.
