Mavenir Research Indicates 4G Services Critical for Monetization

RICHARDSON, Texas, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Mavenir Systems, a leading provider of innovative mobile IMS convergence solutions, says research confirms that 4G Operators can gain a clear financial advantage by offering Voice, Video and Multimedia Messaging services together with 4G basic connectivity services.

According to research done by Heavy Reading and Wireless 20/20, launching 4G Services immediately will result in a tenfold increase in 10 year NP, a 50% increase in IRR and a 50% increase in ARPU over a data-only service strategy. In today's competitive environment, 4G operators need to launch communication services to mitigate risk of losing subscriber loyalty and yielding services to third party, over-the-top providers like Skype and Google that do not contribute to operator revenues.

The study also reveals that delaying the launch by just two years causes a NPV reduction of 20% and 10 years IRR reduction of 4% and an ARPU reduction of 7.9%.

"We've surmised that this is the case and now we have quantifiable data that supports a rapid move by Mobile Operators," said Shubh Agarwal, Mavenir's Vice President of Marketing.
