On August 2nd, 2011, ShoreTel announced that the ShoreTel Unified Communication solution for SMB Offerings had been given a “Strong Positive” rating in the Gartner report titled “MarketScope for Unified Communications for the SMB Market, North America.”
The Strong Positive Rating is the highest possible rating that a business can receive from the market report. It indicates that the company is considered a provider of strategic products, services or solutions and that customers are expected to continue with planned investments. It also indicates that most potential customers view the vendor as a strong choice for strategic investments.
Other possible ratings from Gartner’s MarketScope include Positive (‘demonstrates strength in specific areas’), Promising (‘Shows potential in specific areas’), Caution (‘Faces challenges in one or more areas’), and Strong Negative (‘Has difficulty responding to problems in multiple areas’).
Peter Blackmore, the CEO of ShoreTel, spoke briefly about the achievement. He stated “We believe receiving Gartner’s highest rating possible, ‘Strong Postive,’ confirms our position in the market and our commitment to providing low total cost of ownership and continuously improving customer satisfaction that meet the unique challenges of SMB businesses.”
Gartner’s MarketScope is a prominent publication that offers assistance for users who have deployed or who are in the process of deploying products and services. The focus of this report was the premises-based (and infrastructure-based) and UC market for SMBs, which it defines as a company that has between 20 and 499 employees.
