New Deployment Model for Cisco Quad Platform

Cisco has released a public statement that the Cisco Quad(TM) platform will soon be available as a hosted and managed deployment model. They stated that customers in the United States and Canada will be able to obtain the new model through ACS, while European customers can get it through Logicalis UK and Australian users can obtain it through Alphawest.

The Cisco Quad platform provides small businesses with the ability to quickly locate and communicate with colleagues, share files with employees working on similar tasks, and set up a web conference or chat session. The platform also allows employees to create virtual working groups within the system.

The company indicated that Capgemini, their systems integration partner, will be consulting with different organizations about their deployment of Cisco Quad. This consultation will discuss how a company can make effective use of the platform, define use cases for social collaboration and demonstrate the integration of Cisco Quad with any processes and environments that might already exist.

The public statement also announced that Quad 2.5 will be available in the near future. The new version of the platform is expected to include a mobile application for the Cisco Cius tablet and a wide assortment of pre-built integrations for content management and messaging platforms. It will also feature a variety of services that should lower the overall amount of time it takes to adopt the platform.
