Avaya Displays VMware Integration Solution for Next-Gen Data Centers

On May 10, 2011, Avaya announced that the VMware vCenter Server will now fully integrate with Avaya Virtualization Provisioning Service. This update will help to provide users with a greater level of insight into every stage of the VM lifecycle and allow networking devices to quickly update and react to changes that may occur during that lifecycle.

Avaya Virtualization Provisioning Service is a virtual management solution that allows network administrations to effectively manage and troubleshoot issues with secure virtual machines. It also simplifies VM mobility by making sure that the connectivity and access control parameters are applied in a correct manner as VMs move between different servers. Other benefits of Avaya VPS include reduced time-to-service and a substantially enhanced level of IT efficiency.

The virtual management solution also combines the virtualized infrastructure topology of VMware vCenter Server with the virtualized network technology of Avaya’s Configuration and Orchestration Manager. This comprehensive view provides users with a real-time view of the virtualized data center and makes sure there is full synchronization between intended parties.

The company also stated in the press release that Avaya Identity Engines and SSL VPN gateway will now have VMware Ready status. Any data solution that possesses this status is considered to reliably interoperate with VMware environments. More products are expected to achieve this status in the near future.
